National Club Championships Results

In the first semi final on saturday the "non-county" team were up against David Lloyd Solihull. Unfortunately the match did not quite go to plan! Scott Bailey chalked up a comfortable 3-0 victory at #1, unfortunately though the other 2 games ended in defeat. Lee Picken was hampered early on by a recurring back injury which contrinuted to a 3-0 loss. Pete Morgans, a late replacement for Paul at #3 (another injury!) was unlucky to just lose out 3-2. The team picked itself up for Sunday and ran out comfortable 3-0 winners in the 3/4th playoff match. Rob Nayman stepped in for the injured Lee and all players won 3-0.
Next up was the Racketball team playing against Exeter. Chris Wase and Chris Morris found the going tough against high quality opposition, Mervyn Davies managed to take a game in his match but eventually lost 3-1. Stuart Dix manged to salvage something from the match with a nice 3-0 victory. Unfortunately the racketball team was unable to field a side to play in the 3/4 playoff due to injuries and work committments and so they finished in 4th place overall.
A great effort by both teams to even get to the finals, better luck next year guys!
